Painting - Animal Hand Painting
Description:
For this project, students are first asked to trace their hand on a piece of scratch paper, and brainstorm ideas of animals that could be created from the outline. Once brainstorming is finished, and an animal is selected, the students will lightly trace their hand print on water color paper for reference. With help, the students will then paint their hand and print it on the paper. Finally, students will add details using watercolors.
Extension Activity:
This art project could be integrated into a writing lesson. For example, students could be asked to write about an animal, including details on where it lives and what it looks like. This project could act as an illustration to their narrative. Therefore, art could be used as a fun way to promote creativity in writing.
